Visit Chippenham

Chippenham is a pretty historic market town located just over 5 miles away from The Rudloe Arms.

Originally a settlement, dating back to since before Roman Times it is thought that the Town was originally established by crossing the River Avon. 1841 saw the Great Western Rialway being built, now Chippenham is mainly used as a commuter town but does have a number of places of interest for all ages to enjoy.

Chippenham Museum and Heritage Centre

The museum features the story of the historic market town of Chippenham from prehistoric times to today. Located in a beautiful 18th Century Grade II listed building. 

You will also learn more about the towns history , its villages and the local areas by viewing its extensive collections plus you will be given the opportunity to meet some of the former residents as they take you through the history of Chippenham and the local areas.

There is plenty to do with a full programme of temporary exhibitions, children’s activities, special events, walks and talks.

M4 Karting

M4 Karting is a fun packed indoor Karting and Mini Moto Centre.

There is a range of options that we have from large/corproate events, Stag and Hen Parties, Kids parties or for the individual karter who just wants to come and enjoy the track amd have some fun with time trials!

Bowood House

Bowood's House & Gardens, Adventure Playground, Soft Play Area and Tractor Ted’s Little Farm opens again on 25th March 2016. 

The House is a beautiful stately Georgian House located within hundreds of acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscape, Wiltshire. The House comes with a wealthy and very interesting history, where the Lansdowne family have lived for over 260 years. T

Visitiors can use the grounds surrounding the House and is perfect for a range of visitors including families, specialist horticultural and garden enthusiasts, historians, schools or if you are on holiday and fancy a wonderfu day out.

The amazing gadens were awarded the HHA/Christies Gardens of the Year in 2014, this is a truly stunning sight and is a definate recommendation for you to vist and enjoy what the talented gardeners  and landscapers at Bowood have achieved.

You will also have the opportunity to learn about the history of the House and explore areas of the family home with a range of fascinating artifacts.

For the younger visitors there is Tractor Ted’s Little Farm and you can also arrange your child's Birthday Party at Bowood!
